To all Patroling members:
Shortly after completion of the current Bronze Medallion/Surf Rescue Certificate squad additional courses will be commencing including Advanced Resuscitation Certificate, IRB Crew/Driver and Spinal Management, with dates to be set through Autumn and Winter.
After completion of the initial Bronze Medallion the club has always covered the cost of the subsequent awards and training, with an expectation that the member undertakes their rostered beach patrols and contributes to Nowra-Culburra Surf Lifesaving Club activities.
We are notifying all patrolling members who wish to gain any award higher than Bronze Medallion, or seek proficiency for the 2010/2011 season in any award other than the Bronze medallion that there will be a requirement to have completed a minimum of 25 patrol hours in the 2009/10 season.
Members who have not completed 25 patrol hours may apply for an exemption from the committee. Contributions to club activities such as nippers, carnivals, training, fund raising and social events will be considered. Members who do not gain an exemption will be charged a fee for any award or proficiency (other than Bronze Medallion). If a member does not wish to pay this fee they will need to complete 25 hours of patrol prior to commencing the new award or being signed off for proficiency.
With nine weekends to remaining there is still enough time in the 2009/10 season for members to complete these hours of patrol prior to the end of the season.
If you have any questions or wish to check the number of hours you have completed please contact Peter Wright-Smith on 0402 287 598 or Lloyd Smith on 0412 970 836
Thank you Nowra-Culburra SLSC Management Committee
