Dear All Welcome back to the 2011 - 2012 Surf Life Saving Season. I would like to thank Peter Adlington for his to efforts to ensure that the 2011 Patrol Roster is as equitable as possible. You will notice that we are now patrolling Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays all season. This will be a big effort and before we start the season I thank you for your valuable time. We are going to support members with text messaging and phone calls to ensure that patrol members are aware of their up coming patrols. If you are unable to make a patrol could you please contact your patrol captain at least a week prior so that the club and ensure that the beach will have enough members on the beach. One point that needs to be said is the following. "Despite numbers on the patrol roster looking strong, it only takes two or three members not showing up with out explanation to can put your patrol and the lives of the public at risk. We are relying on you being there because your skills are needed on the beach." Call if you can’t be there!! I remind all patrolling members that to be eligible for SLS training programs and SLS completions a member must have completed 25 hours of patrolling in the past 12 months. The club made this rule 12 months ago because some members were not meeting their minimum club obligation of 25 hours and then requesting training and benefits from the club and SLS.In short we need you on patrol each time you are rostered or at least a phone call so we can make arrangements for your absences. I look forward to seeing you on the beach over summer keeping our beach safe. Thank you and regards, Peter Wright - Smith Club Captain |
